Accenture Moves into New Offices in Center of Brussels

Accenture will move into its new offices on Waterloolaan, 16 boulevard de Waterloo, in the centre of Brussels on Monday, July 6. The new office in Brussels will provide a unique meeting place for employees, clients and business partners, stimulating interaction and flexibility and helping to reduce the company's ecological footprint.

"The decision to stay in the center of Brussels is deliberate," said Eric Lonbois, managing director of Accenture in Belgium and Luxembourg. "It is a central location for our clients and our people, with easy access to public transport and parking and with a vibrant community life nearby."

Accenture was among the first companies in Belgium to allow employees to work outside the office. With this move, the company extends the concept of the "virtual office," with new collaboration technologies, evolving it into a creative meeting place to interact during and outside of work. Through the use of unified communications and new collaboration technologies, such as Voice-over-IP (VoIP), Microsoft RoundTable, Microsoft Office Communicator and Telepresence, the office will offer increased flexibility and mobility, making it possible to work from a remote location, from home, or from a client site.

The new location also reinforces Accenture's commitment to operating as a sustainable business -- reducing its carbon footprint and supporting efforts to obtain an ISO 14001 certification for the Brussels office - by using solar panels, rainwater recycling, sustainable building materials and smart lighting.

"People still want to meet and work in a place where they feel welcome," said Lonbois. "Using new technologies makes it possible for them to work from anywhere, and the office allows them to opt for a private work setting, open space, a meeting or seminar room - or they can relax in more informal areas that are available across the office. Additionally, by encouraging the use of public transport, we expect that people will change the way they commute, further helping reduce our carbon footprint."
